PLN Sumatra interconnected grid

The Sumatra 275/150 kV interconnected system — a north-to-south backbone from Aceh through Medan, Pekanbaru and Palembang to Lampung — plus the separate Batam-Bintan (Barelang) island grid operated by PLN Batam, where Medco Power runs the Panaran gas plants. Built like the Java-Bali monitor: an interactive map, a substation/plant atlas, and the DC-relevant clusters (Medan, Palembang, and the Nongsa/Batam subsea-cable data island). Curated from RUPTL 2025-2034 + PLN AR 2024 — coordinates approximate, not an operational topology.

Batam is islanded. The Batam-Bintan-Rempang-Galang (Barelang) 150 kV grid is not synchronously tied to the mainland Sumatra interconnection — it is its own system run by b'right PLN Batam, with Medco Power's Panaran gas plants and PLTU Tanjung Kasam as base-load, and the Nongsa Digital Park subsea-cable DC hub as a fast-growing, Singapore-adjacent AI/edge load.
