Sustainability — Topic Hub
A curated navigational hub for data center sustainability: Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE), Water Usage Effectiveness (WUE), Carbon Usage Effectiveness (CUE), renewable energy power purchase agreements (PPA), ISO 50001 energy management systems, and net-zero carbon pathways. This page aggregates calculators, carbon tools, and standards — it performs no calculation of its own.
▶ Open Sustainability Hub01 Purpose & scope
This hub consolidates the sustainability and environmental performance discipline of data center operations. It covers the Green Grid KPI suite — PUE (energy efficiency), WUE (water efficiency), CUE (carbon intensity) — and maps them to the ISO 30134 measurement standard and ASHRAE 90.4 energy targets. The hub also addresses decarbonisation pathways: renewable energy PPAs, on-site generation (solar PV, fuel cells), 24/7 carbon-free energy matching, and Scope 2 / Scope 3 emissions accounting per GHG Protocol.
ISO 50001 energy management system (EnMS) implementation guidance is included as the operational framework for continuous PUE/WUE improvement programmes in live data center campuses.
